Fairmoney is hiring an android engineer to help build the mobile banking experience behind one of africa's fastest-growing digital banks. Since launching in 2017, fairmoney has expanded across Nigeria and India, raised nearly €50 million from leading global investors, and grown into a distributed engineering organisation with teams across africa, europe, and asia. If you're passionate about building reliable, high-performance mobile applications that improve financial access for millions of people, this is a role worth exploring.
As an android engineer, you'll design, develop, test, and maintain new features across the entire software development lifecycle while contributing to the core android application used by fairmoney's customers. You'll work with modern technologies including Kotlin, java, clean architecture, coroutines, and multi-module applications, collaborating closely with engineers across backend, infrastructure, and machine learning teams. Beyond writing high-quality code, you'll participate in code reviews, testing, knowledge sharing, and mentoring junior developers while helping improve engineering standards across the team.
The ideal candidate has at least four years of professional android development experience, strong proficiency in Kotlin and java, and hands- on experience with unit testing, instrumented testing, and end-to-end testing. Familiarity with pair programming, test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD workflows, and scalable software architecture is highly valued. Fairmoney is looking for engineers who combine strong technical skills with curiosity, collaboration, and a proactive mindset, while remaining focused on delivering meaningful impact for customers.
